Jeep Warngler are six cylinder 3.8 new ones. Their mpg is 15-21, they come on two doors and four doors. Look at the website of jeep if your looking for a new one
To answer this question on the TJ wrangler, I’d recommend that you browse http://www.jeepforum.com for a little bit.
I have a 2004 TJ Wrangler Rubicon and the most common things that go bad on the rubicon models is the axle lockers not working correctly. First you have to decide if you want a SE, Sport, X, Sahara, or Rubicon model. You also have to decide if you want the bigger axles or smaller ones. Then 6-cyl or 4-cyl models.
Look out for bent control arm brackets, “death wobble”, smooth idle, driveline vibes, ineffective brakes, functional transfer case, etc. Lots of stuff to check.
Andrew is pretty much right. you need to figure out what you will be using it for. if you wanna do alot of offroading, get a rubicon. if not, check out the Sport version or the X version or the SE. whichever model you choose, the inline 6 engine is much better in the wrangler than the 4 cylinder.
I will just add onto what andrew said and ill say look for a 6 Cylinder 4.0L model. The 4cyl engine has to work too hard since it is a heavy vehicle.
Cracked exhaust manifold
Fluid leaks can be an issue. On my 2000 Wrangler Sport I have had a transmission pan gasket leak and a drip stick tube leak, neither was a big deal, The two piece plastic/metal radiators can also be another problem spot. You might look for wiring issues caused by previous owners installing accessories or aux lighting. Look behind the glove box where the fuse box is located and around and in relay/fuse box under the hood on the right near the battery. Good luck and enjoy your Jeep
Look over everything. You can never be too sure. Ask the dealer questions. look under the car (differentials, drive shaft/power line, transmission, muffler, axles) Anything exposed under the car is liable to have been bumped on a rock if the vehicle has been off road. Check to see how much the top leaks. Chances are it will (as in any other Wrangler). I waited until after a large rain storm to look at my jeep before i bought it to see how much water made it inside. If it is an older Jeep there is going to be some rust. That is okay as long as there isn’t to much.
Look to see if the fender flares are cracking on the bottom. Look to see if there is duct tape on the top of the soft top. Explore everything. If it doesn’t feel right, then move on.
