The Grand Cherokee features sound handling and a good ride. The base engine is a lackluster 3.7-liter V6, and a powerful 5.7-liter Hemi V8 is also available. The best choice is the 4.7-liter V8, which received updates for 2008 and is now punchier, more refined, and more fuel efficient. Fit and finish isn’t on par with its competitors, and rear-seat comfort is just so-so. ESC and curtain air bags are both standard.
