The only recourse you have is to take it to a welding shop and see what they think. But be prepared for bad news.. I know if some one brought one in my shop I would turn it down

Well andrew in all cases of a ear braking on a block has come from the mechanic or owner trying to pull the engine together because they couldn’t get the engine and trans to align and went the short route and ended up breaking it. If the break was big and clean enough you can get it welded back together but will be expensive and no guarantee it will work since it is cast metal and a whole lot of hassle to weld cast metal. And to do it right you need a block, get a bare one and transfer the parts if the pistons and crank and bearings mic out to specs
    Good Luck

That is quite the predicament. Welding cast iron can pose problems, it likes to crack while it cools unless it is cooled very slowly. You’ll probably need to pull the motor out to get it done right. Depending on how much is gone it may be quite expensive to fix but still cheaper than a new engine or swapping parts. There are a total of four bolts that hold the engine and tranny together so having one welded shouldn’t be much of an issue. Take the engine to a shop that is proficient in TIG welding. They’ll be able to add beads to build up the lost material and then grind it, drill it and tap it. Some serious shit had to have happened to that ear for it to break so make sure there isn’t any damage to the tranny too.

is it a rubber motor mount or something cast iron or cast aluminum? if it’s just a mount you can get a new one at any of the major parts places…. if it’s aluminum then the welding shop guys can tig it back together and if it’s cast iron then it will have to be brazedback and even then it may not stay. Might come down to an engine swap in the worst case
