On the newer 2008 Jeep when I push it to the floor it dosent engage until 75% of the way up its causing me to stall it alot and is very annoying is there a way I can tighten it?

I then started doing research and realized that Jeep changed the transmission in 2005 from a 5-speed to a 6-speed. In my 5-speed, 1st gear is WAY too low for street driving, so I start from 2nd, which is too high, and I’m burning my clutch. I want to replace it with a 2005 manual transmission, which has a lower 1st gear, but also a lower 2nd, which will give me a better “street start” 1st gear, and I will still have 5 effective gears.
My basic question is: since the engine is the same 4.0L I-6, will the new transmission bolt directly onto the engine, or are they incompatible?
(I believe I gave enough information, but I will supply more if it is needed)
